Water Warriors, artisans from J&K to attend Delhi Republic Day Parade
Around 120 achievers from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, along with 70 from Ladakh, will be part of this year’s historic Republic Day celebrations, officials confirmed on Friday. These individuals have been selected from diverse fields, including students, artisans, beneficiaries of the PM-Vishwakarma Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, construction workers, residents of Vibrant Villages, and Water Warriors.
Each invitee represents a story of resilience and dedication, embodying the spirit of contribution to the nation’s progress, an official statement read. The statement emphasised that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have continually demonstrated that with commitment and determination, no obstacle is too great to overcome in the pursuit of their goals.
The Union Government has made special arrangements for accommodation and logistical support to ensure a comfortable and memorable experience for the invitees. “The Government of India is committed to recognising the achievements and contributions of citizens who play a key role in the country’s path toward prosperity,” the statement added.
This year’s Republic Day celebrations will also see the participation of around 10,000 Special Guests from across the nation, all of whom have excelled in their respective fields and are considered the architects of Swarnim Bharat.
