Will fight injustice with unemployed youth: Apni Party candidate
Apni Party candidate Manjit Singh, who is contesting elections from the Vijaypur Assembly constituency, said he would fight against the alleged injustice being done with locals and the educated unemployed youth in J&K.
While addressing a series of public meetings in Vijaypur in Samba district, the former minister questioned the involvement of non-locals in trade, employment, and grab of resources that has annoyed the local population as they had been deprived of their constitutional rights after August 2019.
He said the elected representative should be aware of the difficulties of the people and fight for their rights.
“This Assembly elections have provided an opportunity to the people of Vijaypur to elect a representative that can address their issues and bring prosperity in the constituency which has faced negligence at all levels,” he stated.
He said the unemployment rate had spiked after August 2019 in Vijaypur and other parts of J&K that has left the educated youth jobless. Hence, the situation turned alarming for the people.
He said resources had been grabbed by the mafia and the trade had been gradually taken over by the outsiders. The situation of the industrial sector was worsening as outsiders were given benefits and their applications were processed fast in comparison to the application for industrial units by the locals.
He said the Apni Party would fight in the Legislative Assembly for the rights of the people. He also elaborated about the welfare scheme that would be started to benefit the locals in J&K, if the party forms the government.
Party issues notice to leader for backing Omar
Srinagar: The Apni Party on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to its senior leader Muntazir Mohiuddin after he extended his support to former Chief Minister and NC vice-president Omar Abdullah from the Budgam Assembly segment in Central Kashmir.
“The Apni Party issued a show-cause notice to its chief spokesperson Muntazir Mohiuddin for his purported remarks supporting Omar Abdullah,” the party said on Saturday.
The party said it had urged Muntazir “to clarify his remarks before the party leadership within 48 hours, failing which a disciplinary action will be taken.”
Muntazir had earlier submitted his nomination from Budgam seat. He, however, withdrew from the seat. Muntazir said on Friday that after Omar Abdullah entered into the seat, he didn’t want to divide the votes as it had become a high-profile constituency.
