The Vice-Chancellor of University of Jammu (JU), Prof Manoj Dhar said Industry Interface with Industry was a right strategy to make the university a hub of Innovation and startups. He added that the JU was envisaging to create an ecosystem where students, scholars and faculty were in a position to express their ideas. He said this while interacting with Rahul Sahai, former chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
NSS volunteer felicitated
NSS Volunteer Dakashveer Chagdhal, a Semester VI student of Government Degree College, Kathua, was felicitated by Principal, Asha Ram Sharma for attending Republic Day Parade on January 26 at Rajpath, New Delhi. He was one among the four volunteers who got selected from J&K for the Republic Day Parade camp at New Delhi. He had been selected keeping in view the overall performance for the parade, cultural activity, proficiency to express views on various social issues and an ability to depict the culture of the Union Territory.
Awareness on corona virus
The District Health Office, Kathua, on Wednesday held an awareness programme in collaboration with the debate and symposium committee of GDC, Kathua, on corona virus and leprosy eradication. District Health Officer, Kathua, Dr Savita was the resource person in the programme. Dr Savita in her interaction with the students explained about various aspects of corona virus which has emerged from Wuhan (China).
ABVP holds seminar
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Central University of Jammu (CUJ) unit, organised a seminar on the new education policy on the university campus. The seminar started with the lightening of the lamp.While speaking on the occasion, Ashish Chauhan, national organising secretary of the ABVP, mainly focused on the need for primary education of children and emphasised on modern education. He asked the students to read the first chapter of the new education policy saying that it was of utmost importance for early development.
SMVDU condoles death of former VC
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) fraternity on Wednesday condoled the death of its former Vice-Chancellor, Prof NK Bansal, who passed away on Tuesday. A condolence meeting was held at the the Central Courtyard. Prof Bansal had served as Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU between 2004 and 2009.
