Will not rake up sensitive issues during LS polls: BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said the party will appeal for votes by highlighting its developmental works rather than “indulging in politics centered on sensitive issues.”
The party said that its focus will remain on addressing real causes, as opposed to engaging in divisive rhetoric.This was stated by Tarun Chugh, the national general secretary of the BJP and party Incharge for J&K and Ladakh, during a meeting here.
The meeting was convened to deliberate on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “The developmental initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi would resonate with the electorate and translate into electoral support,” he added.
Chugh accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Conference (NC) of playing dual politics. “There is a noticeable transformation in the region; schools are open, there is an absence of strike calls, and uninterrupted internet services, and these are evidences of progress,” Chugh said, adding these improvements are distinct under BJP rule, contrasting with the practices observed during the reign of NC and PDP.
Chugh said there is a shift in political discourse following the Supreme Court’s verdict on Article 370, saying the parties previously exploiting this issue for political gain are now bereft of such a platform.
