Srinagar, July 23

A woman was injured in a ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district, the Army said.

They said the Pakistan army targeted civilian villages in forward areas along the LoC last night resulting in a woman getting bullet injury.

“A woman of Hajitra village was injured in Pakistani firing. The injured woman was rushed to the hospital and is currently stable,” the Army statement said.

There has been a spurt in ceasefire violation along the LoC in Kashmir and the Army has been maintaining that most of the times the firing is aimed at helping the infiltrators to sneak into the Valley. In the past two weeks, the Army had foiled at least two infiltration bids in Kupwara district in which three militants were killed.
