Workshop on cyber security

A workshop on the theme ‘Cyber security and ethical hacking’commenced at the Department of Computer Science and IT, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu (JU). The workshop was organised by the univer sity in collaboration with Secuneus Technologies Pvt Ltd, Jalandhar, for the students of MCA to give them exposure and industrial knowledge pertaining to the domain of ethical hacking. On the first day of the workshop, five interactive sessions were held on different hecking technologies. Professor Meena Sharma, rector, Kathua Campus and chief coordinator campuses in her message while emphasising upon the importance of such workshops, stated that such events were the need of the hour in this professional world.

Masters promoted

The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has placed 60 promoted Masters as In-charge Headmasters and equivalent in government schools in the districts of Jammu Division. On the basis of seniority list, the Masters were promoted by the school education directorate. All promoted Masters have been asked to submit their choices for adjustment as In-charge Headmasters before January 15.

Pre-board exams begins

The pre-board examination for students of Class X and XII will commence Friday in the Summer Zone (Jammu Province). The examination will be held from January 10 to 21, according to the date sheet posted by the Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ), on its official website. The motive behind conducting the examination is to examine the preparation of students for the upcoming annual examination, which is scheduled to be held in March-April.

ABVP stages protest

The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), University of Jammu (JU), staged protest against the “Free Kashmir” poster that was raised in Mumbai. The protest was led by ABVP JU president Shubam Amar. He alleged that the fee-hike issue has been diverted by the Left students in the JNU and have shifted the issue to Kashmir with an agenda.“The government must take cognisance of the matter seriously and register complaint against the whole incident and an independent enquiry committee must be formed in this regard”, said an ABVP statement said. Deepak Gupta, ABVP state secretary, Ravail Parihar, Ramneek Sharma, Joginder Kumar and Santosh were also present.

Tinkering laboratory inaugurated

Besides two smart classrooms, Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Ghulamshah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, on Thursday inaugurated Tinkering Laboratory and High-end Computer Laboratory. BGSBU Both Tinkering and High-end Computer Laboratories were established in Polytechnic College on the campus of the university.

Bhuvnesh qualifies for PhD degree

Dr Bhuvnesh Kumari Sudan, a resident of Gadi Garh (lower), Jammu, has been declared qualified for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Hindi by Maharaja Vinayak Global University, Jaipur. She worked on the topic “Hindi Sahitya Mein Munshi Premchand ki Sahhitayak Manayataye” under the supervision of Dr Sanju Jha.
