Youth have responsibility to build stronger J&K, Lieutenant Governor Sinha tells NCC cadets

J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacted with the NCC cadets who returned after attending the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi, where they shared their experiences of the event.

The L-G commended the cadets and NCC officers for their outstanding performance on Kartavya Path and in various other competitions. He especially congratulated SUO Ekta Kumari for leading the All India NCC Girls Contingent, making Jammu and Kashmir proud.

He emphasised that the historic participation of the NCC in the Republic Day celebrations and the numerous prestigious awards and accolades secured have reinforced the vital role of the NCC in nurturing the future leaders of the nation.

“NCC cadets have always displayed exceptional skills, discipline and commitment to their duties. I applaud the idea and energy of our young cadets in striving to develop society, address challenges through innovative solutions, and selfless service,” said the L-G.

Sinha also spoke about the importance of youth in shaping the future, stating, “Youth are the future. They are our hope for a better world and a brighter tomorrow for J&K. They have the great responsibility to carry forward the ideals and values of our ancient civilisation and build a stronger UT. The spirit of the NCC will help them power the mission of peace and progress and achieve the goal of constructive social changes.” He further urged NCC cadets to motivate and encourage other youngsters to contribute to nation-building activities.

The L-G outlined five key resolutions for the NCC cadets: rapid development of Jammu and Kashmir, improving the quality of life for citizens, creating social units dedicated to nation-building, inspiring constructive social change through the ideals and values of the NCC, and ensuring the participation of every section of society in the nation’s development journey.

To honour their contributions, the L-G felicitated the cadets with certificates of excellence for their significant role in the success of the contingent. Maj Gen A. Bevli, Additional Director General of J&K and Ladakh Directorate, also presented a memento to the L0G as a token of gratitude for his continuous support to the NCC’s initiatives.

The vibrant cultural performances by the NCC cadets, symbolising India’s unity in diversity, received special appreciation from Sinha.

A total of 127 cadets from the J&K and Ladakh NCC Directorate participated in this year’s Republic Day celebrations. Seventeen cadets were selected to march on Kartavya Path, and five cadets were chosen for the Guard of Honour. SUO Ekta Kumari led the All India NCC Girls Contingent during the Republic Day Parade 2025 on Kartavya Path, earning accolades from the President of India and the DG NCC Commendation Card.
