Addicted to the use of TikTok and other Chinese applications, youngsters of the city on Tuesday said that it would take some time to remove these applications from mobile phones.

The youngsters said they had not removed the app and but had begun limiting its use. There were few who said that since they would no longer be uploading or sharing any video to avoid any controversy, they would delete it soon.

“I know that once deleted, I will not be able to upload TikTok again. However, I will look for other video-based Indian apps like Chingari or Bolo Indya. Otherwise Instagram, Snapchat and my music apps are enough to pass my day”, said Savvy, a collegiate and a TikTok buff.

Some shared that their parents counselled them to remove the Chinese apps from their cells. Parul, a teenager, says, “I was so used to watching TikTok that I would spend at least half an hour on searching good videos daily, even during my examination. But my parents yesterday told me to delete the app as it was banned now. So, I have done it and now I too feel that it has been a good riddance. There is so much more to explore”. She said that she was used to ordering her stuff from Shein and would now switch over to other e-commerce portals.
