The released water is expected to reach Jalandhar by Tuesday early morning. DC Dr Himanshu Aggarwal appealed to people in low-lying and flood-prone areas to avoid going near river banks, besides shifting to relief camps. He further said coupled with other drain water, nearly 1.25 to1.5 lakh cusecs of water may pass through Jalandhar. He said the government had already made elaborate arrangements to prevent any flood-like situation and assured them that sufficient relief camps, food supplies, fodder, and medicines were in place.
