1 death, 11 new cases in Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur, July 31

Of 558 Covid reports received by the district administration on Friday, 11 returned positive which took the number of cases to 551. A-95-year old woman of Shahpur village succumbed to the disease at Government Medical College, Patiala. She had gallstones and was also suffering paralysis.

Of new cases, five were from Mukerian subdivision, one each from Krishna Nagar and Lali Colony of the city, two from Kharkan Camp, one from Bhunga block and one was from Budawar block.

Civil Surgeon Jasvir Singh said 354 samples were collected on Friday, taking the total number of samples collected to 28,516, of which 26,770 samples tested negative. Reports of 1182 samples are awaited and 55 samples had been declared invalid. The death toll in the district stands at 17 and the number of active cases is 89. — OC
