The couples shared their inspiring journey and their joy of parenthood with the guests present on the occasion. An awareness session was also held to shed stigma associated with infertility. The customary Lohri bonfire, music and dances added to the celebratory atmosphere.

Fertility specialist and vice-president of Punjab Medical Council, Dr Jasmine Dahiya, said, “The idea behind organising the event was to help other couples battling infertility and feeling lonely in their journey. The get-together helped them feel that they were not alone in this journey and there is always a hope.”

She said the common infertility issues were genetic disorders such as thalassemia, PCOS and poor sperm count and quality.
