11 drug peddlers nabbed in Nawanshahr within 48 hours

The police arrested 11 drug peddlers, including three women, and recovered 40 grams of heroin, intoxicant tablets and injections from them in Nawanshahr district in the past two days.
The police arrested five persons from Nawanshahr city, Aur, Pojewal, Rahon and Kathgarh today. Cases under the NDPS Act were registered against them.
In Aur, a woman drug peddler, identified as Palo, was arrested with 15 grams of heroin and six intoxicant injections. The police arrested two suspects – Khushkaran Singh and Satnam Kumar – from Nawanshahr city and Pojewal. They recovered 50 intoxicant capsules from Khushkaran and 30 capsules from Satnam.
The police also arrested two persons from Kathgarh and Rahon and recovered intoxicant capsules and tablets from them.
The police arrested six drug peddlers, including two women, yesterday and recovered heroin and intoxicant tablets from them.
Two women were arrested with 15 grams of heroin from Sadar Banga. The suspects were identified as Nimmo and Babbli. As many as 10 grams of heroin was recovered from Nimmo, while 5 grams of heroin was seized from Babbli.
Recently, a purported video of a woman drug addict from Nawanshahr was also circulated on social media. According to family members, the woman’s mother was also a drug addict. The video was of Gudpad village in the Aur block. The police said the village was a drug hotspot. The woman was later admitted to a de-addiction centre in Kapurthala.
