12 larva cases detected

Jalandhar: As part of its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases in the city, the anti-larva cell of the Health Department detected 12 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Friday.

Teams of anti-larva cell conducted inspections in Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Bachint Nagar, Master Tara Singh Nagar, New Jawahar Nagar, Shiv Nagar and Tarkhana Mohalla. Officials visited 499 houses and checked 69 desert coolers and 637 waste containers. They also told residents that desert coolers and empty containers could act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. — TNS
