Dengue cases in the district reached 125 with two more persons testing positive today.

In December, four cases of dengue have been reported in Jalandhar. Of the total 125 dengue cases, 90 are in urban areas and 35 rural.

Meanwhile, dengue surveys were also carried out in 1,959 houses today - 534 urban and 1,425 rural. However, no dengue larvae were found.

The district logged 11 cases of dengue until August 1, 42 cases were reported collectively in August and September --16 in August and 26 in September. As many as 68 cases had been reported in October and November and four in December so far.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
