Jalandhar, August 24

Selection trials for 14th hockey India Junior Men National Hockey Championship were today held at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

As many as 150 players took part in the trials and 40 have been selected for the camp that will start from August 26. “Out of these 40, 18 players will be selected for the Punjab team,” said an official.

The selected team will take part in the championship, which is being organised by Hockey Punjab from September 9 to 19. As many as 30 teams from different states will participate in this junior men’s national hockey championship.
