15th Hockey India Junior Men’s national Hockey Championship kicks off

In the 15th Hockey India Junior Men’s National Hockey Championship that started at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar today, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh and Delhi won their matches and secured three points each. While the teams of Puducherry and Telangana remained tied at 1-1.

This championship was inaugurated by Hockey India vice-president and Hockey Punjab president Nitin Kohli. He said Hockey Punjab is proud to be organising this championship for the second consecutive time. The Punjab sub-junior men’s hockey team, which returned after winning the gold medal in the 15th Hockey India Sub-junior National Men’s Hockey Championship in Chennai, was honoured with Rs 1 lakh.

In the first match, Kerala defeated Tripura 14-1, Chhattisgarh defeated Goa 6-1, Rajasthan defeated Gujarat 5-3, Arunachal Pradesh defeated Himachal Pradesh 3-1 and Delhi defeated Assam 10-2 to earn three points each. While the match between Puducherry and Telangana ended in a 1-1 draw.

6-00 am- Kerala vs Telangana

9-00 AM- Chhattisgarh versus Gujarat

10-30 AM- Rajasthan versus Goa

12-00 PM- Chandigarh versusJammu and Kashmir

1-30 PM- Bihar versus Uttarakhand

3-00 PM- Delhi versus Bengal.
