16 rounds fired at a house in Kurala Kalan
Hoshiarpur, August 16
Four masked assailants who remained unidentified opened fire at a house in village Kurala Kalan late on Thursday night. Meanwhile, it is reported that about 16 bullets were fired at the gate and wall of the house. Today, the police registered a case against the unidentified assailants on the statement of the owner of the house, Gurjit Kaur, wife of Kamaljit Singh. She was at home along with her two sons and daughters. They were all asleep at night and her son Rajveer Singh was watching TV in the lobby, when he heard the sound of gunshots. He mistook it for crackers being burst on Independence Day. Then their neighbour Sukhdev Singh and others came to their house and told them that four people in a car had opened fire at their gate and fled. She said that after the incident, her family was in danger. — OC
