Nineteen khair trees were cut and stolen from panchayat and private land at Beh Mawa village of Kandi area. Forest Department, Talwara, had earlier filed a damage report in the theft of five of these trees, while the damage report of the remaining trees has also been filed.

After the panchayat complained about the theft of trees from some private property and from panchayat land, a damage report was issued by the Forest Department for the cutting of five trees. Investigation was also going on regarding 14 more trees, which were on panchayat land and a delisted private land.

In this regard, besides panchayat, the land owners had also complained to the Forest Department, Talwara, and BDPO, Talwara. Bhamawa village sarpanch Hans Raj said that the information about the cutting of trees from the panchayat area had been given in writing to the Forest Department and BDPO office, Talwara.
