Jalandhar, August 5
Under the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Haryaval Lehar launched by the state government, one lakh saplings have been distributed by the Forest Department in Kapurthala district so far.
Under the drive, 10 fruit trees each were planted in 700 government schools, besides giving special attention to plant “Triveni” — trees of neem, peepal and banyan — which are helpful in environment protection.
DC Vishesh Sarangal directed the Forest Department to speed up the campaign and asked them to plant more local and fruit plants.
