The Dasuya police have registered a case against two persons for allegedly murdering an NRI to grab Rs 2.80 lakh in a land deal.
Surinder Kaur, wife of Balwinder Singh, resident of village Bakarpur in district Kapurthala, told the police that her husband had come from abroad. Her husband had told her that he had deposited Rs 2.80 lakh in the account of Ramesh Kumar and Narinderpal, alias Nindi, residents of village Pasi Bet in Dasuya, for a land deal, but the accused are shying away from getting the land registered.
She said her husband went on a bike from home to meet them on January 21, but when he did not return, she called him but his phone was switched off.
She filed a missing person report with Bholath police on January 27. On February 1, former sarpanch of village Galowal Lakhwinder Singh informed her that a body had been found in the jungle of village Budhuvakart.
She identified the body which was of her husband. There were injury marks on her husband’s body. She alleged that the accused murdered her husband to grab the money.
