The police have registered two cases and booked two persons for alleged cheating of Rs 46 lakh.

According to information, Tajinder Singh, son of Dr Kharak Singh, a resident of Chabbewal, told the police that Balwinder Singh of village Khambra, allegedly cheated him of Rs 40 lakh on the pretext of sending him to England.

While Surjit Singh of village Balhera of Dasuya, told the police that Karnail Singh of Sango Katrala allegedly cheated him of Rs 6 lakh on the pretext of getting his son recruited in Punjab Police.

He said the accused had also given him a cheque for the amount which bounced. The police has started further action after registering the case. — OC
