2 held, 16 booked for assault
Phagwara, July 28
The police have arrested two persons and booked 16 others, including two women for assaulting a Mehat Pur resident.
The arrested accused had been identified as Pawan Kumar Bhagat and Kamajit, alias Pamma, of Mehsam Pur village. Mangat Ram of Vafa Mohalla, Mehat Pur, complained to the police that the accused barged into his house and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and seriously injured him.
A case under Sections 333 (house trespass), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS had been registered.
