The Jalandhar Police Commissionerate has cracked a case of theft in the city by arresting two persons and recovering valuables from them.
Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma said Kanchan, a resident of house number 226, Mohalla Amrit Vihar, on September 20 filed a complaint that she had locked her house and went to the RTA office. When she returned home in the evening, she found that the door of the lobby of her house was damaged, the locks of cupboards inside the house were broken and gold and silver ornaments and Rs 60,000 were stolen from the house.
The CP said during investigation, the police identified the accused as Surinder Singh of Menva village in Kapurthala and Jagbir Singh, alias Jagga, of Amritsar. He said the police arrested both accused and recovered two pairs of gold earrings, Rs 10,000 and a vehicle (PB 65 AG 9129) used in the incident.
