The police have arrested two individuals and seized 167 grams of narcotics along with 26,000 banned Pregabalin capsules. Police officials said a case has been registered against the accused, adding a car used in the offence has also been seized.
According to police sources, while patrolling in Ward No. 5, Garhshankar, ASI Satnam Singh, in-charge of Police Post Samundra, apprehended Sunil Kumar, a resident of village Lal Mahi, Police Station Sahibganj, District Sahibganj, Jharkhand, currently residing in Ward No. 5, Garhshankar and Gursharan Singh alias Gury, a resident of Ward No. 7, near the Truck Union, Garhshankar. Both were detained under suspicious circumstances.
Upon searching the individuals, the police seized 167 grams of narcotic substances. Further investigation led to the recovery of 26,000 banned Pregabalin capsules stored in four cardboard boxes at Sunil Kumar’s residence in Ward No. 5. The vehicle allegedly used in the transportation of the contraband was also seized.
The police have registered a case against both accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police officials said both individuals are currently under interrogation.
