2 held with five stolen sheep, car
The Jalandhar rural police arrested two men, who had stolen livestock and vehicles from Puranpur village in Jalandhar.
Complainant Gurdeep Singh of Salempur Nangal in Mohali complained to the Kapurthala police on January 19 that three persons Liakat Ali, Ranjha Ali, Shaukat Ali, residents of Ranipur, in Kapurthala and an unidentified person, stole his five sheep and a Zen car (PB07Q8877) on the intervening night of January 15 and 16 from village Puranpur.
A case was registered against the accused under Sections 303 (2), 331 (4), 3 (5) of the BNS at the Patara police station on January 19.
Liakat Ali and Teg Ali were apprehended by the police from whom the five stolen sheep and and two vehicles used in the theft were recovered.
The total recoveries in the case include the five stolen sheep, the stolen Zen car (PB07Q8877) and a Maruti car (PB32F1783). The aides of the thieves were absconding. The police said further investigation was also being conducted in the case.
