2 held with stolen electric wire in Goindwal Sahib

The police have arrested two youths after recovering stolen electric wire from their possession at a naka (checkpost) near the Beas river. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaurav Toora said as per FIR registered by ASI Balbir Singh, a police team comprising ASI Harjinder Singh, ASI Parvinder Singh, Head Constable Lakha Singh, and Constable Ramandeep Singh was on duty at the Hi-Tech naka point when they received a tip-off from an informer about two persons, involved in stealing and selling electric wires, travelling towards Goindwal Sahib on a white Jupiter scooter (bearing registration number Punjab-18 AA 3585).

Soon after, two suspects matching the given description approached naka on the scooter. When signalled to stop, the duo allegedly tried to turn back in panic. With the assistance of other policemen, the scooter was intercepted. On inspection, electric wire, suspected to be stolen, was recovered from the vehicle.
