2 Jalandhar boys score 99.9 percentile in JEE-Main

A student of MGN Public School, Urban Estate, Mayank Mittal has made the city proud by scoring a percentile of 99.946 in the JEE-Main examination, the result of which was declared on Monday. Like him, Mridul Gupta of Innocent Hearts School has scored a percentile of 99.906.
Mayank scored 100 percentile in chemistry, 99.853 in mathematics, 99.606 percentile in physics. A resident of Urban Estate-Phase 1, he says the support of his parents, schoolteachers and instructors at his coaching centre helped him perform well. Despite having scored good, he is preparing for a second chance of JEE-Main starting from July 20. “I will surely take the second examination too. I still have a chance to achieve the perfect score,” he beamed, sitting by his father Sandeep Mittal, who is a Senior Auditor with Defence Accounts at Jalandhar Cantonment, and his mother Bharti Mittal, who is a teacher at Government Senior Secondary School, Mithapur.
Mayank shared that the he did self-study for 10-12 hours daily after his classes. He says that he aspires to do computer science engineering from a top IIT and his ultimate goal was to crack IIT Advanced to be held on August 28. “As of today, we did not hold any bash. I will throw a party only when I achieve my final target,” he said, adding that he does find time to relax by playing badminton or listening to his favourite music. For Mayank, social media is a big no. “I am out of all social media platforms. I used my phone only to take online classes”.
Other students from the same school including Gurmehar and Daksh Bhatti, too, have cracked the exam with a high percentile of 98.9 and 98.7, respectively.
Innocent Hearts School boy Mridul Gupta, too, has a perfect 100 percentile in physics. A resident of Dhaliwal Qadian, both his parents are government officers. He, too, will be taking a second chance of JEE-Main for further improvement, besides preparing for JEE Advanced. Both he and Mayank took coaching from a private institute and like him, Mridul also aspires to do computer science engineering from a top IIT.
The percentile score of other students of Innocent Hearts School too has been good. Other top scorers are Ojasvi (93.27 percentile), Pranav Angrish (93.2), Manvi Jindal (92.78) and Harmanpaul 92.4. Dr Anup Bowry, Chairman, Innocent Hearts, congratulated the students and teachers. Rajeev Paliwal, Principal, applauded the efforts of the students and wished them good luck for their bright future.
Students of St Soldier Group of Institutions also performed well in JEE-Main. Chairman Anil Chopra, Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Chopra said Sarthak Kapoor scored 99.85 percentile, Mridul Shori 98.96, Shitij Kapoor 98.12 and Tanshiq Goyal 94.06.
Kappish Jindal, a student of CJS Public School has got 97.6 percentile. Neena Mittal, Chairperson of School Managing Committee, and Principal Dr Ravi Suta congratulated the student and his family members and wished him a bright future.
