The police on Wednesday arrested two youths who were caught snatching a mobile phone from a passerby in Brindpur.

The incident took place around 1 pm on August 20, when complainant Tiwari of Kashipur Musa in Uttar Pradesh and currently staying in Kala Sanghia, was walking from Brindpur village towards the Rail Coach Factory.

According to an FIR, two unidentified youths arrived on a black motorcycle (PB08-ET-0254), intercepted him, and snatched his mobile phone.

The complainant raised the alarm, drawing the attention of nearby residents and passersby. With their help, both were overpowered at the spot along with their motorcycle. They later disclosed their identities as Amrik Singh of Sidhwa Dona, and Sonu of village Boot.

Police officials reached the scene following information from locals and took custody of the accused as well as the motorcycle used in the crime. A case has been registered on the basis of the complainant’s statement.
