As part of National Immunisation Day, three-day pulse polio drive will begin from tomorrow. Children in the age group of 0 and 5 years will be administered polio drops across the district.

As per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Jagdeep Chawla, district vaccination officer Rakesh Chopra flagged off a pulse polio awareness auto-rickshaw rally from the Civil Surgeon office here today.

He said 1,318 polio booths had been set up in the district. Of this, 365 booths had been set up in urban areas and 953 in rural areas. A total of 2,249 teams had been deployed in the district. As total of 55 mobile teams had been formed and 271 supervisors had been appointed.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
