All Sarv Bharti Lok Kalavan Sanstha (India Folk Arts Institute) shall be hosting the 39th Sarv Bharti Lok Kalavan Mela (All India Folk Arts Festival), on Saturday and Sunday (March 1-2) at the Heritage Hall of Sant Baba Pritam Das Memorial Charitable Hospital, Dera Baba Joro, village Raipur, Rasulpur.

Chief patron of the organisation, Sant Baba Nirmal Das, gave this

information here today.

Officials of the Sanstha gave finishing touches to preparations for the folk art festival during a meeting held at Dera Baba Joro.

Baba Nirmal Das informed that an open invitation has been sent to the universities, colleges, institutes and related teams that participated in the last festival, from whom no entry fee is being charged. About 2,000 folk artists

are expected to take part in the event.

All India Folk Arts Institute secretary Santosh Kumari said that keeping in mind the needs of the students, all necessary arrangements have been made by the volunteers of NCC and NSS units of colleges besides the district administration.

President of All India Folk Arts Institute, Karam Pal Singh Dhillon said that the institute has been serving Punjab, Punjabi culture and Punjabi folk art for long. This time also, performances of Punjabi folk songs, Dhadi war songs, kavishri, wedding songs, folk dances, bhangra, giddha, mimicry, skits, fancy dress and other folk art related competitions for the students of colleges, institutes and universities have

been arranged.

He also informed that the contestants selected by famous artist judges of Punjab will be honoured with cash prizes by the All India Folk Arts Organisation.

Renowned Punjabi comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi is also being honoured on

the occasion.
