As intense cold weather continues to haunt the residents, a 45-year-old man lost his life here on Saturday due to severe cold. The deceased who is yet to be identified breathed his last at city railway and his body was found at platform number 2.

Investigation officer ASI Dilip Chand, (GRP), said, the body had been kept at the district Civil Hospital mortuary for 72 hours. Apparently the deceased was suffering from prolonged illness and severe cold conditions deteriorated his health, said the ASI.

Notably, this was the second death due to hyperthermia in the region. Earlier, a wage laborer was found dead outside a factory in Sodhal Nagar on December 30.
