47 finalists gear up for swimming championship

The AGI Open Swimming Championship, being held at the swimming pools of Jalandhar Heights 1 and 2 on 66-foot road, has entered its final stage, with 47 swimmers qualifying for the concluding heats across various age categories and events.

Following several days of competitive heats and timed races, finalists were selected based on their best recorded performances. The championship has witnessed enthusiastic participation and impressive performances by young swimmers from the city. The final heats will now decide the champions in each group.

In the Boys Under-10 category for 50 metres, the finalists are Nihaan, Sahib, Aariv, Suchet, Viraj and Vitamin. For the Girls Under-10 (50 metres), Rinzen, Bhagirathi and Jannat have made it to the final heat.

The Girls Under-15 (50 metres) finalists include Divnoor, Arjoie, Aradhya, Avanshi, Methali and Pranidhi, while in the Boys Under-15 (50 metres) category, Rohan, Jagrav, Arsh, Aarav and Aditya have secured their spots.

In the Boys Under-15 (75 metres), Aakarsh, Aarav Chawla, Shivansh, Yash and Lovish will be competing in the finals. Meanwhile, Mayank and Raghav have qualified in the Boys Under-19 (50 metres) category. Among the seniors, Imanat and Rishab will be competing in the senior 50 meters final heat.

In the shorter 25-metre races, Boys Under-10 finalists include Aariv, Darsheel, Sahib, Jasmer, and Viyan. For the Girls Under-10 (25 metres), Rinzen, Jannat, and Anahat have qualified.

In the Girls Under-15 (25 metres) final heat, Avanshi, Arzoie, Methali and Pranidhi will race for the top positions.

Organisers of the AGI championship said the final day promises high-energy contests as the city’s best young swimmers vie for the top honours.
