Jalandhar: As many as 5,902 students, including 2,901 Class X students and 3,001 Class VIII students, belonging to government and government-aided schools on Sunday took the Punjab State Talent Search Examination in the Doaba region comprising Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr districts.

The examination was conducted by the State Council of Education and Research (SCERT). The nodal officers of the Education Department from the state headquarters and the district education officers conducted surprise inspections of the examination centres. The Education Department, with a view to prepare students for the competitive scholarship examination, has organised special virtual coaching classes in different districts. Students were provided simplified material and google quiz were also organised. The government schoolteachers also held physical classes to clear doubts of students at the block and district level while adhering to Covid-19 precautions for the convenience of students. TNS
