5 Army personnel injured in road accident on Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway
The Army truck lose balance and topple over right side of the highway, while canter-truck veered into a divider
Jalandhar, July 20
Five Army personnel were injured after a collision between an Army truck and an onion-loaded canter-truck on Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway near Suchi Pind here on Saturday.
The incident took place around 6 am.
According to initial reports, both vehicles were traveling from PAP to Amritsar side when the canter-truck rear-ended the Army truck.
The impact caused the Army truck to lose balance and topple over the right side of the highway, while the canter-truck veered into a divider.
The injured Army personnel were rushed to the Army Hospital for treatment. Police said two of the injured are in serious condition, while the remaining three have sustained minor injuries.
Rama Mandi SHO Gurpreet Singh said the driver of the canter-truck fled the scene immediately after the accident.
“Once the statements of the Army personnel are recorded, an FIR will be lodged, and the investigation will proceed”, he added.
