District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal said 54.98% voter turnout was recorded in the bypoll of Jalandhar West constituency.

Aggarwal said the bypoll was conducted peacefully with no incidents of violence.

He said the counting of votes would be held on July 13 at Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women at 8 am.

He thanked the voters, election staff and security forces for ensuring a smooth and successful completion of the polling procedure.
