The Bilga police today booked six persons on the charge of outraging a woman’s modesty.

Investigating Officer (IO) Surindar Singh said the accused had been identified as Baldeep Singh, Bawa, Haipa, Gurjodh Singh Shera and Sona, all residents of Pati Bhoja, Bilga village. Makhan Lal, a resident of the same locality, complained to the police that the accused attacked his daughter, son and brother and threatened them with dire consequences and tore clothes of his daughter and beat her with a shoe.

The IO said a case under Sections 354, 323, 506, 148 and149 of the IPC had been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused, the police said.
