600 cadets from 45 institutes join 10-day training camp at CT Group

A 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp of 2 Punjab Battalion NCC is underway at CT Institute, Shahpur, with participation from 600 cadets representing 45 different educational institutions.

Col Vinod Joshi, Camp Commandant, shared that every moment from morning till night is being meticulously planned so that by the end, this camp becomes a lifelong memory for every cadet. While the cadets are experiencing 10 days of military life, they are also being given opportunities to showcase and refine their skills and talents.

This morning, all cadets, dressed in uniform and holding the national flag in their hands, gathered in front of the grand 100-foot-high Indian Tricolour. As the magnificent flag was unfurled in the CT Institute campus, all cadets saluted the flag, filling the atmosphere with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

Dr Manbir Singh, MD of CT Group, Dr Sangram Singh, Campus Director, and Dr Arjun Singh, Dean of Student Welfare, were present for the special event. Dr Manbir Singh expressed pride that their campus was chosen by the Indian Army for the NCC camp and assured that every facility would be provided for the camp. Col Joshi expressed his gratitude and informed that 30 Army trainers and 6 Associate NCC Officers have been deployed to provide top-notch training to the cadets. He also encouraged cadets to consider a career in the Indian Armed Forces and provided detailed information related to recruitment. The state police conducted a lecture and demonstration on civil defence for the cadets. A special lecture was organised by a gynecologist to address health and hygiene-related queries of girl cadets.

To familiarise cadets with modern technologies like drones, a training programme was conducted by LPU. ANO Lieut Jaswinder Singh Dhillon delivered a lecture on personality development, while Chief Officer Sandeep Sethi spoke on the topic of national unity. Lieut Kuldip Sharma, Officer-in-Charge, is running a special Caretaking Officer Orientation Programme in the camp for future Associate NCC Officers. In addition to the NCC curriculum, cadets are being specially trained in drill and weapon handling. During the monsoon season, every cadet in the camp is being provided with high-quality nutritious meals three times a day.
