71-year-old Sikh devotee from Jalandhar dies of heart attack at Nankana Sahib

A Sikh devotee from Jalandhar who had travelled to Pakistan to celebrate Khalsa Sajna Divas at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib with a group of pilgrims, passed away due to a sudden heart attack in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Joginder Singh, a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar here.

As per information, pilgrims from Punjab arrived in Pakistan on April 9 to participate in the Baisakhi celebrations at Gurudwara Nankana Sahib. Joginder Singh, who suffered a heart attack, was rushed to District Headquarter Hospital, Nankana Sahib, by employees of the Pakistan Auqaf Board. However, after a few hours of the treatment, he was declared dead. Fellow travellers who went to Pakistan with Joginder Singh stated that he was suffering from a respiratory illness.

It was also learnt that after completing the requisite formalities, the body of Joginder Singh was handed over to the family to be brought to Jalandhar via Wagah border.
