76th National Foundry Day celebrated with focus on ‘GST Reforms 2.0’ session in Jalandhar.

The 76th National Foundry Day was celebrated at Hotel Ramada in Jalandhar, organised by the Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF), Chandigarh Chapter, in collaboration with the Regional Indirect Taxation Committee of Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Jalandhar Zone. The event featured a special interactive session on “GST Reforms 2.0.”

The welcome address was delivered by Sanjeev Juneja, convener of the Jalandhar Zone of PHDCCI and Chairman of the IIF Chandigarh Chapter. He emphasised the importance of the foundry industry as the backbone of India’s manufacturing strength, adding that GST reforms would bring increased transparency and new growth opportunities.

Pawan Pahwa, convener of the Regional Indirect Taxation Committee, PHDCCI, gave a detailed presentation on “GST Reforms 2.0,” focusing on compliance strategies for businesses.

Chief Guest Ashwani Kumar, Past President of FIEO and Partner at Victor Forgings, lauded the efforts of IIF and PHDCCI, highlighting the critical role industry associations play in strengthening trade and manufacturing sectors.

In his special address, Balram Kapoor, Chairman of the Northern Region IIF, emphasised that effective implementation of GST reforms would significantly benefit the foundry and manufacturing sectors. Jatin Sahdev, Resident Manager at PHDCCI, stressed the importance of such sessions in providing valuable policy guidance and practical insights for industry stakeholders.

On the occasion, Manish Kwatra, Honorary Secretary of IIF Chandigarh Chapter, urged entrepreneurs in the foundry sector to join IIF to benefit from collective growth and networking opportunities. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ajay Rai, Vice Chairman of IIF Chandigarh Chapter.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 80 industry representatives and stakeholders from Jalandhar and surrounding areas, marking a successful celebration of National Foundry Day.
