In a landmark initiative aimed at providing quality healthcare services to the local population, particularly Indian Army veterans in remote areas, the first-of-its-kind joint civil-military health camp was successfully organised at the Civil Hospital in Sultanpur Lodhi. The event was a collaborative effort between the district administration and the Army authorities of Kapurthala military station.

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal, addressing the gathering, hailed the camp as “a shining example of the synergy between the Army and the civil administration.” He emphasised the administration’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare services, especially to underserved rural communities.

Specialist doctors from both the Army and civil hospitals provided free consultations and treatment to over 800 patients. The medical camp offered services in various disciplines, including medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, and ophthalmology.

The DC also announced that such health camps would become a regular feature to ensure that more people, especially in rural areas, can access essential medical services closer to home.
