Divulging the details, DC Ghanshyam Thori said the SVP has been instituted by the Education Ministry to recognise, inspire and celebrate best sanitation and hygiene practices in schools. He further added that the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, has invited entries from schools across the country for ‘Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-2022’. He also mentioned that all types of schools – government, government-aided and private – in both rural and urban areas can register for it.

Throwing a light on the initiative, Thori said the purpose of the SVP is to honor schools that have undertaken significant steps towards fulfilling the mandate of the Swachh Vidyalaya Campaign, especially further motivating the exemplary work in the field of water, sanitation and hygiene.
