A late night altercation between two groups during a party in Hothian village near Kapurthala resulted in the injury of nine persons, including village sarpanch Narinder Kaur. The incident reportedly took place around 9 PM last night.

The dispute began when some party attendees allegedly parked their vehicle in front of a neighbouring house. Kamaljeet Kaur, a resident of that house, stated that she requested the guests to move their vehicles, following which a group of nearly 20–25 individuals allegedly gathered and assaulted her family.

Kamaljeet claims that the assailants forcibly entered her home, assaulted her and attacked her parents — Ranjit Kaur and Raunki — who came to her defence. Her brothers Amritpal and Pradeep were also injured in the confrontation. Stones were reportedly thrown at the house during the attack.

From the opposing group, Narinder Kaur (sarpanch), Sukhdayal Singh, Harjeet Singh, and Kirandeep Kaur also sustained injuries. One individual was said to be seriously hurt and was referred to a private hospital for advanced treatment.

All injured are receiving care at the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala.
