Action sought against officials for fund misuse
Labour Party president Jai Gopal Dhiman has handed over a memorandum addressed to Chief Secretary, Punjab, and Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain to Assistant Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar over the department and administration not taking any action in the case of alleged scam of about Rs 1 crore by accountant Sukhjinder Singh, who was in-charge, Mahilpur BDPO, along with his colleagues.
Dhiman said he had also attached copies of all evidence of corruption in the information received under the Right to Information Act. He said Secretary, Panchayat, Sandeep Kumar, manager Vijay and employees of e-panchayat are still working on their seats, where they committed the alleged scam.
Dhiman said the government, which is talking about zero corruption, was not ready to take action on the report given by BDPO Balwinder Pal against the scamsters. Dhiman said the delay in action was encouraging the corrupt to tamper with the records.
He said in village Kot Fatuhi, Hukumatpur and Bahbalpur, the secretaries are taking responsibility and sending interlock tiles to the villages. Dhiman said when there would be an audit or investigation in these, it would be difficult to answer and the secretaries themselves are creating evidence of corruption.
