Maj Gen JS Cheema, Additional Director General, NCC Punjab, Haryana, HP and Chandigarh, on Tuesday inspected Jalandhar NCC Group Headquarters and Lovely Professional University.

Brig Ajay Tewari, Group Commander, Jalandhar, welcomed him at Lovely Professional University. The cadets presented a guard of honour to Maj Gen Cheema. Addressing 500 NCC cadets, the ADG elaborated on the career opportunities in Army with NCC qualifications. He gave information about various NCC camps being organised at the national and international level. He said that there are 1.5 lakh NCC cadets under the Directorate.

Many cadets are serving as officers and as soldiers in the armed forces and paramilitary forces. Maj Gen Cheema honoured the best ANOs, military instructors and civil staff of the NCC Group with awards and commendations. The ADG also interacted with the cadets.

Dean of Students Welfare wing, Dr Saurabh Lakhanpal honoured the ADG and Group Commander with siropa and a memento on behalf of the university. Maj Gen JS Cheema also visited the Group Headquarters, Jalandhar. He met all the commanding officers and administrative officers.

Maj Gen Cheema was presented a guard of honour by the cadets of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. Brig Tewari presented a detailed information about recruitment, dress allowance, various camps, training of cadets and logistics etc. The Additional DG gave some suggestions regarding training of cadets and safety of girl cadets. He expressed appreciation for the high standards of the Jalandhar Group and training of 20,000 cadets. Programme.
