Acting on the directives of the Punjab Government, the district administration of Kapurthala has launched a major crackdown on the unauthorised colonies. In a decisive action led by Additional DC (General) Navneet Kaur Ball, illegal colonies along the Begowal-Tanda Road were razed using ditch machines.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
