Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora and other senior officials were also present during the inspection. Panchal said the district administration had completed all necessary preparations to ensure that the elections were conducted in a fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.
A total of 661 polling booths have been set up across the district, and training for polling parties had been completed. He added that adequate arrangements had been made for the movement and security of polling teams.
The elections for 10 Zila Parishad zones and 88 zones of five Block Samitis will be held on 14 December from 8 am to 4 pm. Voting will take place through ballot papers.
SSP Toora stated that sufficient security personnel had been deployed to ensure the safety of polling parties and booths. Special patrolling teams had been assigned for every cluster of 20 villages to maintain law and order.
He affirmed that strict action would be taken against any individuals attempting to disrupt the election process. Senior officials, including Additional DC (J) Navneet Kaur Ball, Additional DC (Rural Development) Varinderpal Singh Bajwa, SP Gurpreet Singh, SP (Phagwara) Madhavi Sharma, returning officers and DSPs, were also present during the review.
