Admn to organise nine loans fairs

Jalandhar, December 4

In order to provide financial support to youth for starting their own startups, the district administration would organise nine self-employment loan fairs from December 8 to December 24 under the “Ghar-Ghar Rozgaar” and “Karobar Mission”.

Presiding over a meeting with representatives of banks, Vishesh Sarangal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)-cum-CEO of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, said the first loan fair would be held at the office of Nakodar BDPO on December 8.

He said the loan fairs would be held in Shahkot, Bhogpur, Mehatpur, Phillaur, at Government Polytechnic College (Girls), Jalandhar, DBEE office, District Industries Centre, Focal Point, and in Adampur.

He said loans under various programmes, including the Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP), Prime Minister Mudra Yojna, and Start-Up India, would be provided to youth.

Sarangal said besides providing jobs to unemployed youth, the DBEE was also acting as a catalyst to help the youth in getting loans for self-employment. He said the DBEE has been actively involved in creating awareness among the youth to ensure that they could take benefit of the government schemes that could help in making youth self-reliant.

He said in the past, a large number of youth opened their vistas and becme partners of socio-economic growth.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said this would be a major milestone to ensure that youth could live their lives with dignity.

He said efforts were being made by the administration to ensure that the entrepreneurship skills of youth were further harnessed by extending such loans to them. He also directed the banks to extend support.

He appealed youth to take benefit of loan fairs and contact 90569-20100 for further details.
