Admn to provide free training for Agniveer recruitment
The district administration is all set to launch a free-of-cost theoretical and physical training programme to prepare aspirants for recruitment as Agniveers in the Indian Army. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Aparna MB, while chairing a meeting of the governing council of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise (DBEE), stated that the initiative was aimed at helping youngsters, particularly from rural areas, in succeeding in Army recruitment rallies.
The ADC emphasised that the training would equip the youth with necessary skills to achieve their dream of serving in the Army. She directed officials to prepare a detailed planning to ensure systematic execution of the initiative.
She urged the local industries to provide a list of their manpower requirements to facilitate the design of skill development courses tailored to industry needs. She instructed the DBEE officials to conduct industry visits to assess workforce demands.
Highlighting the importance of soft skills, the ADC noted that the DBEE was offering courses, including spoken English and Artificial Intelligence training, in collaboration with Microsoft, IBM and NASSCOM. She encouraged educational institutions to engage students in the programmes for better career prospects. Aspiring applicants could contact the DBEE at 9056920100 for more details.
The meeting also reviewed plans for setting up a skill development centre at Gandhi Vanita Ashram and industry-linked courses.
