Aman Arora to hoist Tricolour on R-Day
Minister for New and Renewable Energy Sources and Printing and Stationery Aman Arora will hoist the national flag at the district-level Republic Day function to be held on January 26 at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium here.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing rehearsals for the function. He issued necessary instructions to the participating school students and their teachers. Dr Aggarwal said during the district-level event, a march past would be performed by contingents of the ITBP, Punjab Police (men and women), Punjab Home Guards, and NCC (boys and girls). This will be followed by tableaux showcasing achievements of various departments.
Students from different schools, including SD Phularwal School, Police DAV School, DIPS Suranussi, Innocent Hearts School, New St Soldier School, Red Cross School for Deaf and Dumb, Manav Sahyog School and Apeejay School will present cultural performances imbued with the spirit of patriotism, along with a PT show.
Dr Aggarwal added that freedom fighters, eminent personalities from various fields and outstanding officers/employees from different departments will be honoured during the event.
The DC assured that the civil and police administration were making foolproof arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the district-level programme. He emphasised that every effort would be made to celebrate this auspicious day with patriotism and enthusiasm.
