Americans4Hindus (A4H), a national-level political organisation working to strengthen civic participation among Hindu and pro-Hindu communities in the United States, formally launched its Ohio chapter during an inauguration ceremony held recently at the Columbus residence of Neil Niranjan and Jagruti Patel.

The event marked an expansion of the organisation’s presence in the Midwest region of the US, signalling the body’s efforts to widen its political engagement at local, state, and federal levels.

Phagwara resident Dr Romesh Japra, founder and chairman of A4H, on Saturday said, at the ceremony, community leader Neil Patel was appointed president of the newly formed Ohio chapter.

Dr Japra delivered the keynote address at the event.

Patel, a former US Senate candidate, pledged to advance the organisation’s mission by supporting Hindu and pro-Hindu candidates — from school boards and city councils to state-wide offices.

The gathering saw enthusiastic participation from community members who joined A4H as trustees, champions, and members.

Ohio State Senator Niraj Antani delivered a special address, acknowledging A4H’s past support for his campaigns and urging attendees to step forward into public and political service.

Dr Japra reiterated A4H’s goal of ensuring that Hindu voices found meaningful representation in city halls, state legislatures, and on Capitol Hill.

Dr Japra framed the Ohio launch as “another milestone in empowering a community that has historically been underrepresented in American political life.”

Delegation meets Ramaswamy

In a related development, an A4H delegation met on November 15 with Vivek Ramaswamy, the Republican candidate for the post of Governor of Ohio. The organisation announced its formal endorsement of Ramaswamy, who expressed his commitment to addressing the issues and priorities of Hindu Americans while serving the broader population of the state.
